Now, Royal Oak’s Stagecrafters is gearing up to present the show “Clue,” running Saturday, Jan. 20 through Feb. 5 at the Baldwin Theatre. “Clue” is a charming comedy and murder mystery. Leta Chrisman directs StageCrafters’ production of “Clue,” and Zack Coates stars as Wadsworth. “He’s the classic murder mystery suspect. “The show twists the whole murder mystery format on its head and really does some hilarious unexpected things.
Just before Judas Priest tore into “Screaming for Vengeance” Saturday night, Oct. 22, at the Masonic Temple Theatre, drummer Scott Travis pointed out that doing 50 years of anything is a big deal. That’s particularly true of both Priest and of heavy metal, a genre many music purists of the 60s and 70s felt (and hoped) would die off in short order. Much has changed within Priest, which has been through 21 members, and metal over that time. Priest didn’t quite rock until the dawn, as it sings in the latter song, but it certainly gave the Masonic crowd a night of metal magic. And with another album already nearing completion, it likely won’t be long before it brings another helping of the heavy to town.3 months ago The Oakland Press
In college, Aidan Hutchinson was able to become a disruptive force for the Michigan Wolverines. During the bye week, Hutchinson, along with several members of the defense had conversations with the coaching staff to unlock whatever clues to improve the play of the entire unit. Hutchinson was able to play more from a 2-point stance, and the results were immediate in Week 7. The adjustments made by the coaching staff allowed Hutchinson to have more “vision” in order to be able to get to the quarterback and secure additional pressures and sacks. Glenn noted that constantly making “adjustments” has allowed the defense to play better over the past couple of weeks.3 months ago The Oakland Press
Mind you, they sent over 150 election deniers to Congress, which is its own separate and troubling development. They said no to election deniers who sought to be secretaries of state in Minnesota, Michigan, Nevada and Arizona, among others. Which would only further destabilize a nation that is, at this point, about as solid as a Jenga tower on the San Andreas Fault. On the one hand, there is great relief that they are not poking at the tottering Jenga tower of American democracy. The Jenga tower yet teeters.2 months ago The Oakland Press

This time, though, the Lions’ defense held the Bears to a field goal.1 month ago The Oakland Press
TROY — The Troy Colts survived a shootout against the Berkley Bears to claim a Division 1 district championship with a 2-1 win over their OAA Red rivals. As always, the Berkley defense was stout, anchored by senior co-captain Henry Robertson along with stellar play from senior Griffin Straske. With the win, Troy (18-1) captures its second straight district title, once again escaping arguably the toughest district in the state at any level. The Colts will await the winner of the game between Rochester Adams and Utica Eisenhower, which will be played this Saturday at Rochester High School. But I’m super proud of my guys, and I’m excited to be able to play another game with them,” Stachura said.3 months ago The Oakland Press
After six games in the 2022 season, it’s clear as day that the Detroit Lions are nowhere closer to being a playoff team than they were a season ago. The veteran signal-caller’s production has noticeably dipped the last two games, making it more apparent that he’s clearly not Detroit’s long-term answer at quarterback. “Absolutely,” Goff told reporters after the game, when asked if the four fourth-quarter turnovers were hard for him and the Lions’ offense to overcome. The defense played their tails off today, and gave us a great chance to win that game. If it wasn’t obvious before Sunday, it is readily apparent now: The Lions need to move on from Goff at season’s end.3 months ago The Oakland Press
