Spotify has announced today (January 23) that it is in the process of slashing over 500 jobs worldwide. In the same filing, Spotify confirmed that Dawn Ostroff, Chief Content & Advertising Business Officer, is to leave the company. He added: “To offer some perspective on why we are making this decision, in 2022, the growth of Spotify’s OPEX outpaced our revenue growth by 2X. The past six months have seen the technology sector and parts of the music business hit with a series of layoffs. To do this, I will be centralizing the majority of our engineering and product work under Gustav as Chief Product Officer and the business areas under Alex as Chief Business Officer.
