EnglishWeek 9 marked one of the best weekends for San Francisco high school football in recent memory, with St. Ignatius beating Mitty in the final seconds and Sacred Heart Cathedral beating Bellarmine. Burlingame (4-4, 2-2 Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division) upset Half Moon Bay (6-2, 2-2) on the road, 29-27. Backup quarterback Erick Waugh rose to the occasion as Hillsdale (4-4, 2-2 Peninsula Athletic League Ocean Division) won 27-6 on Senior Night over visiting Capuchino (4-4, 2-2). Liberty (5-3, 2-1 Bay Valley Athletic League) posted a second straight convincing win, 35-6 at Antioch (3-5, 1-2). Mitty and St. Francis (27-0, 9-0) will meet in San Jose to decide the league title on Tuesday.

Paul Pelosi's Alleged Attacker Named After Attack at SF Home

EnglishPolice identified the suspect who allegedly attacked Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, as 42-year-old David DePape, a Berkeley resident. Mr. Pelosi and DePape were observed by SFPD officers in the home, both holding onto a hammer. Officers then tackled the suspect, SFPD Chief Bill Scott told a press conference.
