London — U.K. Prime Minister Liz Truss said on Thursday that she would resign after a rising chorus of members of her own party called for her to step down. I recognize though, given the situation, I cannot deliver the mandate on which I was elected by the Conservative party. I have therefore spoken to His Majesty the King to notify him that I am resigning as leader of the Conservative party," Truss said outside the prime minister's official residence at Number 10 Downing Street in London. Truss is the shortest serving prime minister in U.K. history, having taken office only 45 days ago. For the last few weeks, Connecticut Children’s Hospital in Hartford has been over capacity as more and more young children have been admitted for RSV. All of those were full this morning.”At Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, RSV cases in the emergency department nearly doubled in the last week, going from 57 to 106. With the Connecticut Children’s Hospital already at its max capacity, Salazar also worried influenza could put them over the edge. He expected flu cases would increase significantly in the coming weeks and over the holidays.

During each of his four years on the council, Dacey has voted for the county to lower its property tax rate of $1.06 per $100 of assessed value to the constant-yield property tax rate. The constant-yield rate is the real property tax rate necessary to generate the same revenue from year to year. Adopting this rate would have decreased county tax revenue by $13 million for the last fiscal year.
