DeKalb County Board of Health officials are urging residents to be vaccinated against the flu as “flu activity is already widespread in Georgia.”“If you have not gotten a flu shot yet, do not wait any longer,” said DeKalb County Board of Health (BOH) officials in a statement released Oct. 19. “Some people are at higher risk of developing serious flu-related complications if they get sick,” stated officials. The first employee vaccination incentive earlier this year resulted in approximately 67 percent of county employees being fully vaccinated, stated officials. “Flu vaccine can be administered at the same time as COVID vaccine, so it’s a good time to get your updated booster, too,” stated BOH officials. Flu shots are available at public health departments, doctors’ offices, grocery stores, as well as neighborhood clinics and pharmacies.
