Former top cop shares the brutal tactic that pushed Stephanie Slater to help snare kidnap monster

A former top cop has revealed the controversial measure he took to convince kidnap victim Stephanie Slater to help snare monster Michael Sams. Slater was a 25-year-old estate agent who was kidnapped in 1992 during a house viewing by Sams in Great Barr. Her workplace Shipways Estate Agents paid a ransom of £175,000 to Sams, who then released Slater after eight days. Sams was eventually caged for life while Stephanie attempted to move on, despite the mental scars still haunting her. She did however speak openly about the kidnapping and work with police officers nationally to help other kidnap victims.
