The full tweet, posted on the official Cleveland Police Dogs account, said: "Hopefully all those visiting the Suit Direct Stadium will have an enjoyable visit whatever the result for Hartlepool United Vs Stockport County. Fans were quick to slam the tweet, with @balaclavalcfc saying: "No chance you'd tweet this aimed at any community of people other than football fans.

Middlesbrough leapfrogged Watford into third place in the Championship after finding the perfect response to last weekend's derby disappointment at Sunderland. And looking to rebound from last week's disappointment against Sunderland, both the new man and his team-mates started very brightly. That let-off appeared to spring Boro back into life and just five minutes later Archer went so close to his first Boro goal in what was becoming a really impressive full debut. Boro would get the lead their performance deserved just four minutes later though. While Watford carried that little extra impetus in the second half that Boro had to manage, they never lost their intent either.

Ten-man Middlesbrough miss the chance to go third with derby defeat to Sunderland

Ten-man Middlesbrough missed an opportunity to move third in the Championship as they lost 2-0 to rivals Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland dominated the first half and really ought to have led through at least one of their very good chances. That came in the 11th minute and just 13 minutes later Sunderland had the ball in the back of the net. With Boro really struggling to get to grips with the game, Steffen spilt Patrick Roberts' scuffed shot, allowing Ross Stewart the close-range rebound. In losing they missed a chance to move up to third, where they would have leapfrogged Watford in doing so.
