As with every year, no National Rail services run in London on Christmas Day (December 25), with very few trains on Boxing Day (December 26) either. The EastEnders storyline which featured Jean Slater’s bipolar disorder was among the storylines that prompted the public to get in contact with mental health support services. BBC Action Line received more than 850,000 calls and online visits this year – mainly over mental health issues – which is down 350,000 from 2021. Miss Ali was founder and headteacher at Ambassadors Home School on Mitcham Lane, which she ran alongside her 75-year-old dad Arshad Ali. A teaching panel met on December 13 to decide whether Miss Ali should be permanently banned from the profession. A spokesperson for the panel said: "The panel did not consider that Miss Ali showed any insight or remorse for her conduct.
