Much like the Golden Globes, the BAFTA Awards sought to overcome an image problem based on their record on diversity. The German language film's nominations included Best Film, Best Director, and Adapted Screenplay. All Quiet achieved the most BAFTA nominations since The King's Speech in 2011, which equaled the mark. Russia, Estonia boot ambassadors in diplomatic squabble over Ukraine

The Kremlin announced Monday it reducing its diplomatic relations with Estonia over its support for Ukraine. On Jan. 23, Estonian Ambassador M. Laidre was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry," the foreign ministry wrote. "Estonia takes note of today's decision by Russia to reduce diplomatic presence to the level of charge d'affaires," Estonia said in a Twitter message. "We stand by the principle of parity in relations with Russia, which means that the Russian ambassador will leave at the same time as the Estonian ambassador to Russia." Highly processed foods may be linked to increased risk of cancer, study says

A new study finds increased consumption of ultra-processed foods, like packaged chips, may be linked to a higher risk of developing and dying from cancer. AdvertisementThe study released Tuesday also found higher consumption of over-processed foods increased the risk of dying from cancer, specifically ovarian and breast cancers. Advertisement"This study adds to the growing evidence that ultra-processed foods are likely to negatively impact our health including our risk for cancer. Overly processed foods include soda drinks, mass-produced packaged breads, ready-to-serve meals and most breakfast cereals. Researchers said while their study was based on observations, more work is needed to establish a causal link between ultra-processed foods and cancer.
