The same wrongheaded perspective created Europe’s catastrophic dependency on Russian energy and energy infrastructure. More local measures show an even greater range in price increases, from 5.7% in metropolitan San Francisco to 13% in metropolitan Phoenix. Nationally, housing costs seem to be growing at moderate rates, obscuring that housing costs are growing quickly in some areas and slowly in others as Americans reshuffle where they live. Housing costs grew by 17.1% in Phoenix, by 12.8% in Atlanta, and by 13.5% in Miami. Meanwhile, housing costs rose by only 3.5% in San Francisco, 4.9% in New York City, and 5.6% in metropolitan Washington. Sure enough, six of the seven metropolitan areas in the South are six of the seven metro areas with the highest inflation.

So, one comment that the election was stolen, and you are an “election denier.” And CBS, again to their credit, confirmed that on-air. Interestingly, if that “in the 2020 election” goes away, the list of culprits changes dramatically. Applying the CBS criteria to elections other than 2020, all of them, every single one, is an election denier. FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL: The U.S. Department of Energy appears to have parted ways with Sam Brinton, the nonbinary Biden administration nuclear official who is facing charges for allegedly stealing two pieces of luggage at two separate airports. “Sam Brinton is no longer a DOE employee,” a Department of Energy spokesperson told The Daily Signal in an email Monday afternoon. “By law, the Department of Energy cannot comment further on personnel matters.”The spokesperson did not respond to a follow-up email by press time. The department did not clarify whether Brinton had resigned or been fired. “As an appointed official, Sam Brinton represents both your Department and the United States,” Rep. Andrew Clyde, R-Ga. and other House Republicans wrote in a Dec. 6 letter.

This is likely because Democrats (and Biden himself) have repeatedly advocated for legislation like the Women’s Health Protection Act, a bill that would codify Roe v. Wade and massively expand abortions in the United States. As fundamental rights are at risk at the Supreme Court, Senate Republicans have blocked passage of the Women’s Health Protection Act. CBS polling conducted in May shows that only 17% of Americans think abortion should be legal at any point during the mother’s pregnancy. A similar May 2022 Pew Research poll found that only 19% of Americans think abortion should be legal in all cases, and an August 2022 Rasmussen poll found that only 13% of likely California voters think abortion should be legal at any point. The majority of Americans actually support restrictions on abortion: according to a May 2022 Gallup survey, 63% of Americans think abortion should be illegal or only legal under certain circumstances.
